New Grocery Store Seeing Progress...
Pointe Builders and Schroeder Concrete work in the snow last week installing anchor bolts around the perimeter of the footings of the new J&C Grocery store in Allison. According to Pointe Builders, the general contractor for the project, the steel for the building's framework will arrive February 8 and that part of the construction will proceed .
Clarification
Tribune-Journal - Star Graphics Building Will Not "Sit Empty" On Allison's Main Street
Information coming from Allison City Hall that the Tribune-Journal - Star Graphics office building on Allison's Main Street will "sit empty" are not true.
The facts are that damages to the exterior of the building caused by the fire at J&C Grocery in September are being repaired by Miller Building of Allison, and are, in fact, nearly completed. New flooring is being installed and general cleaning of the interior of the building is now underway and will be completed soon.
Rather than "sitting empty", a considerable investment in new equipment has begun and the printing and graphics business will soon be offering even more services and capabilities.
It is true that the building is listed for sale with Tim Junker, agent for Schuck Realty, and when and if sold, Star Graphics will consolidate in the Star Graphics building located at 21851 Highway 3, Allison. And, as further clarification, will continue in the printing and graphics business.
It is true that the Tribune-Journal newspaper has relocated into smaller, more suitable office space in the Farm Bureau Building at 422 N Main St. as of January 3
It's unclear how and why the rumor that the building would "sit empty" got started.
