With only two weeks remaining in the second half of the ABL, Star Graphics trimmed Cooper Motors’ lead to five points by virtue of their three to one victory last Thursday night at Community Bowl. Dick Lursen rolled six consecutive strikes on his way to a 214 game to win Coopers the first game of the night. Star Graphics managed to regroup and claim the next two games and total pins for their three points. Dick Lursen was high man for Cooper Motors with a 489 series and James Blockhus led Star Graphics with a 551 series. The Allison Hardware moved into sole possession of third place with their 3.5 to .5 point victory over Wagners. Aaron Huff rolled a 489 series to lead the way for the Hardware Wendell Ulfers was high man for Wagners with a 427 series. Community Bowl kept their hopes alive to repeat as champs with their three to one victory over Curly’s Double D. Chief Munson and Bill Nalen both had good nights for Community Bowl with series of 573 and 557 respectively. Dave Wangsness rolled a 408 series for Curly’s Double D. Next week’s action sees Allison Hardware vs. Star Graphics on lanes 1 and 2; Cooper Motors vs. Community Bowl on lanes 3 and 4; and Wagners vs. Curly’s Double D on lanes 5 and 6. High Scratch Series: Chief Munson 573, Bill Nalen 557, James Blockhus 551, Major Healey 494, Dick Lursen 489, Aaron Huff 489. High Scratch Game: Jim Blockhus 221, Dick Lursen 214, Chief Munson 212, James Blockhus 207, Bill Nalen 204 & 202, Aaron Huff 190.
